Pray For The Persecuted Church
Over the first weekend of November, at Christ Church, we took time in our services to pray for the persecuted church.
Statistics for Christian persecution are distressing. According to the World Watch List, 5,621 Christians were killed, over 2,100 churches were attached, and more than 4,500 Christians were detained for their faith in 2022. These staggering numbers highlight the harsh reality that many believers endure daily—harassment, discrimination, wrongful imprisonment, and even death for their devotion to Christ.
Attached is a helpful guide by the World Evangelical Alliance with locations and prayer points of the world’s top most persecuted countries.
We want to encourage our church family to continue to pray for persecuted church.
“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed—always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh,” 2 Corinthians 4:7–11.
