CHRIST CHURCH, GILBERT CAMPUS AT GILBERT TOWN SQUARE

WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT | PROVIDING AN INTENTIONAL, WARM ENVIRONMENT FOR OUR CHURCH FAMILY, FROM THE PARKING LOT TO THE MAIN LOBBY.

The worship center lobby is designed to convey clarity and purpose, with its transparent architecture fostering a sense of openness and anticipation. This space invites curiosity and movement, creating a welcoming atmosphere that encourages a feeling of warmth and anticipation from the moment of arrival.

ENTRANCE AND LOBBY | CULTIVATING INTENTIONAL FELLOWSHIP THROUGH ENCOURAGEMENT AND PRAYER, STRENGTHENING AND EDIFYING ONE ANOTHER.

Our goal is to create architecture that is authentic rather than merely stylistic. A truly authentic building does not strive to appear either old or new; it simply exists as what it is meant to be. It honors the natural qualities of materials, using them in ways that respect their inherent character without distortion or concealment.

WORSHIP CENTER | A 1500-SEAT WORSHIP CENTER FOR HIGH-IMPACT SERVICES, GROUNDED IN UNAPOLOGETIC PREACHING, UNASHAMED WORSHIP, UNCEASING PRAYER, AND UNAFRAID WITNESS.

The space designated for sacred assembly is also a space for light and sound. A north-facing clerestory ushers in soft, indirect daylight, while a focus on material authenticity ensures the creation of a warm, acoustically balanced interior, designed to enhance the experience of powerful worship gatherings.

GATHERING PLAZA | YEAR-ROUND INDOOR AND OUTDOOR GATHERING SPACES DESIGNED TO FOSTER GENUINE RELATIONAL CONNECTION WITHIN OUR CHURCH FAMILY.

In designing architecture that reflects our time and place, there is a clear intention to enhance the connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. The temperate nature of our desert climate offers the unique opportunity to open the buildings, making them adaptable to the mild spring and fall weather, and allowing for a seamless flow between the interior and the landscape.

GATHERING SPACES | ENJOYING COFFEE, BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS, AND EXPERIENCING COMMUNITY IN A PARK-LIKE SETTING.

Transforming the center of the campus into a vibrant, park-like setting enables the welcome pavilion to seamlessly open up, activating the surrounding outdoor spaces. The architecture is designed to encourage lingering and relaxation, inviting people to engage with the environment and fostering a strong sense of bringing the outdoors in.

WELCOME PAVILION | PRIORITIZING OUR CULTURE OF INVITATION BY ENSURING OUR CAMPUS IS WELCOMING AND ACCESSIBLE TO EVERYONE.

Architecture has the power to shape the awareness and sensibilities of those who experience it. Designed to be “almost nothing,” the pavilion stands out for its architectural economy. The simplicity and precision with which it addresses basic functions strengthen its integrity. What the building does best is invite visitors to pay attention to the surrounding landscape.

KIDS MINISTRY | PROVIDING SAFE, WELCOMING, AND AGE-APPROPRIATE SPACES WHERE THE NEXT GENERATION CAN LEARN ABOUT AND EXPERIENCE THE LOVE OF JESUS.

Transforming the existing movie theater into a versatile ministry building for children is primarily a process of subtraction. By removing all non-structural elements, we created the opportunity to introduce natural daylight from above, flooding transparent classrooms arranged around spacious two-level circulation areas.

ADULT DISCIPLESHIP | TWELVE VERSATILE ROOMS OF VARYING SIZES, CAREFULLY PLANNED TO SUPPORT ALL OUR ADULT DISCIPLESHIP MINISTRIES, FROM STUDIES TO COMMUNITY LIFE GATHERINGS.

STRATEGIC STEWARDSHIP OF GILBERT TOWN SQUARE

REDEEMED AMBITION

Since the very beginning of Christ Church, we have been a local church firmly convinced that the Great Commission, as found in the New Testament, is our marching orders. For over twelve years, regardless of our location, size, or number of services, we have witnessed disciples being made and matured. We have experienced God’s abundant grace and power as we’ve devoted ourselves to making much of Jesus—through the gathering of His people, the planting of new churches, serving our community, and reaching the nations.

But Christ has not returned, therefore, Christ Church has not arrived, and our story is far from complete. We remain steadfast in Christ’s call on our church, and we will not waver until He returns. The strategic stewardship of our property at Gilbert Town Square is our next step in advancing God’s mission—for the glory of God and the good of His people.

CONTAGIOUS GENEROSITY

Each step in our mission has been an opportunity to sacrifice for the benefit of others—often for those who are not yet part of our church family. Some steps have required us to set aside comfort, convenience, and personal preferences. Others have called us to give generously of our resources to see significant advancements for God’s kingdom. Through every type of sacrifice, we have strengthened the culture of contagious generosity within our church family.

As we strive for maximum kingdom impact by faithfully stewarding all that God has entrusted to us, we pray that He will move in each of our hearts to welcome sacrifice. May we be driven by the mission before us, with a spirit reflecting the generosity we have received—from those who came before us at Christ Church and, above all, from our Lord and Savior.
